How to Make an Ugly Christmas Sweater from a Sweater You Already Have
  1. Pick your base sweater.
Choose any sweater you don’t mind decorating—solid colors work well, but anything can be transformed!
  2. Gather simple materials.
Grab items you may already have at home: ribbon, bows, tinsel, felt, buttons, pom-poms, ornaments, bells, stickers, or leftover wrapping paper. Hot glue, fabric glue, or safety pins will help attach everything.
  3. Plan your design (or don’t!).
Decide whether you want a theme—like a reindeer, Christmas tree, snowflakes, or full glitter chaos. The more playful, the better.
  4. Attach your decorations.
Use fabric glue or safety pins to secure each item.
    – Add tinsel around the neckline or sleeves
    – Make a tree shape with ribbon or felt
    – Add bows or ornaments for a 3D effect
    – Glue pom-poms to mimic lights or snow
